Pet Food Bank Policy:
- Please note that all food is donated. This means that the food we have may be different from what you've received in the past. We will provide what we have in stock, but it may not be your first choice.
- You are permitted to visit the Pet Food Bank once every 30 days.
- If you are currently a customer of the Pet Food Bank, we will not approve you to adopt one of our animals. While we acknowledge that those seeking assistance are responsible pet owners doing their best to care for their animals, we do not want to increase financial burden by adding another pet to the household. When you are no longer in need of the services of the Pet Food Bank, we would be glad for you to apply to adopt from us.
- The food bank includes only pet food and does not include any other pet supplies such as toys, litter, or beds.
- Due to limited supply, we can only provide one unit of food per visit per household.
- We do not give food to breeders. The food bank aims to keep pets in loving homes and out of shelters, and breeding is one of the biggest reasons that shelters continue to be overcrowded.
- If you sell the food you've received at the food bank, you will no longer be able to receive food from us.
- If you are not willing to abide by these policies, you will no longer be able to use the food bank.
Help Stock the Pet Food Bank
Part of caring for the animals in our community is caring for their owners. When people face situations of economic hardship, it can be difficult to keep up with the costs of owning a pet. Providing pet food to families in need can prevent the heartbreaking surrender of a beloved dog or cat to already overcrowded shelters. We aim to keep people and pets together, and our Pet Food Bank is vital to accomplishing that mission.
While we always prioritize caring for the animals in our care, we also want to equip existing pet owners with the supplies they need. If you are able to assist in stocking our food bank, your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Any brand of cat or dog food is accepted, as long as the bag is unopened and unexpired. Donations can be dropped off in person in our covered donation bin by our front gate or shipped to 5287 Covington Hwy, Decatur, GA 30035.
