What are the volunteer hours?
We are open to volunteers from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Our public entrance gate is locked, but volunteers can use the sliding gate on the left of the entrance gate.
Where is the shelter located?
Our shelter is located at 5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, 30035. We are around 10 minutes from Downtown Decatur and can be easily accessed from I-20 and I-285.
How old do you have to be to volunteer?
The minimum age to begin volunteering at PAWS is 18.
How can my group get involved in volunteering?
We love our volunteers and we welcome volunteer groups of all sizes. If you would like to schedule a group to volunteer at PAWS Atlanta, please send an email to our Volunteer and Database Coordinator, Sam Long, at slong@pawsatlanta.org with the number of people in your group and any preferences regarding dates and/or times.
Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the number of individual volunteers on-site to 16 and the number of volunteers in a group to 15. All volunteer groups and individuals must be scheduled ahead of time. We do not require masks on-site as of September 7, 2022, but those who are not vaccinated are highly encouraged to wear one. Read our updated COVID-19 protocol here.
