PAWS Atlanta follows an adoption process to ensure that each cat or dog is placed in a safe and loving forever home. Due to COVID-19, we have developed new procedures to keep our animals, adopters, and staff as safe as possible. Please set up an appointment with our adoption counselors by completing your online application linked on the right side of the page. Our shelter team will reach out to ask questions, discuss possibilities, and send you photos and videos of available pets to determine the best fit for your family.
Then, we will schedule an appointment for you and your family to meet your potential new pet. Once a match is made, the adoption fee will be processed over the phone or in person. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of each animal’s expenses and care (e.g. vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, food, etc.) prior to them being adopted.
All adopters must be 21 years of age or older with a valid form of picture identification. Please note, PAWS Atlanta reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for the protection of our animals. In some cases, we ask adopters to submit to a home inspection prior to finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
